Holland - 11th and 12th April 2015

Good afternoon,

This is just a very brief update of the April Tour to Holland, a more complete report will I am sure take a little time.  We played the A side on Saturday and somehow got a 3-3 draw, Paul Sharratt getting a hat-trick (keeper had his Labrador nearby!!!).  Fair result would have been about 7 or 8-3 to them, Richard played well in goal, so 2 easy 'Men of the Match'.  All this followed by a BBQ and a few beers.

On Sunday we played their B side that were a tad less skilful but much younger (their eldest player was still younger than our youngest Paul Sharratt).  Going behind to a goal within 2 minutes didn't help but we recovered to come out winners 3-2, two more goals from Sharratt (1 a penalty stroke) and one from Frank.

This was followed by yet more beers and nibbles and sandwiches.  A slightly longer coach drive back (normally 5 minutes) but today the driver took us on the scenic route.

Sunday evening we had the traditional End of Tour Dinner, even though it was just a weekend.  We were honoured as 2 of our Sunday opponents joined us, which was really appreciated.  A few "taking wine" toasts duly took place and a short impromptu and entertaining speech was duly given by John Carrick.  Photographs will become available after all the blackmail money has been collected.
